LAB Reviews
The LAB consisted of 8 Zoom calls during which I had an opportunity to practice things like: introducing myself (finally I'm freaking out less when I have to do this :D), answering to impromptu questions, presenting for a group and giving a presentation.
I can definitely feel that LAB gave me a confidence boost when doing technical demos over Zoom at work (I work remotely as a software engineer). In real-life scenarios I think the improvement wasn't that big, but that's understandable, because all the classes were online.
I'm pretty sure the end of LAB doesn't mean the end of my public speaking adventure. Let's put on more reps! 🙂
The LAB really helped me to see that I was able to make my point when speaking in front of others and that being my authentic self actually made it easier to do. Highly recommend!!

A safe and compassionate space to grow
Dr Mathews created a safe and compassionate space for me to deal with my social anxiety. I have grown a lot through the personal sessions as well as the lab sessions. As a result, I have opened up more socially both at home and at work.
I would strongly recommend the Lab - it's life-changing.
The Lab is life-changing. You get to road-test pressure situations in a supportive group while gaining needed practice that helps a lot in real-world situations. I would strongly recommend the Lab for people looking to manage and improve their anxiety and build communication skills.
You learn the skills and tools needed to manage your speaking anxiety
I enrolled in this program because I experienced the usual public speaking anxieties ( excess worrying, sweating, loss of train of thought during a presentation, panicking before speaking, fast heartbeats, lack of sleep before presentations). I had lived with this for over 10 years. I walked the journey with Cheryl and I must say this is a worthwhile investment if you are willing to put in the work. You learn the skills and tools needed to manage your speaking anxiety and function with it. In two months of joining the program, I've made about 8-10 presentations to various groups of people both virtually and physically ( the biggest one being a physical presentation to a group of 50 people) successfully. The weekly sessions are also great as you learn to deal with your anxieties in a lab with like minded people. Thank Cheryl for this program and I can definitely say that I've become better at managing my anxieties.
